Leader: Curtis Clark

Mr. Curtis Clark, Jr. sat down on the piano at his maternal grandmother’s home when he was eight or nine years old and learned to play Edwin Hawkins’ arrangement of “Oh Happy Day.” For more nearly 40 years, Curtis has played, sang, directed, and led music ministries in the Indiana/ Kentucky/Illinois Tri-State area. As a teenager he began playing in his home church, New Hope Baptist and was later hired to play as the main musician for St. James Baptist Church. From those early beginnings to now, Curtis’s gift developed to the point of blessing him with leadership opportunities for several congregations as assistant minister of music, minister of music, director of music, musician, and adjunct faculty of gospel music at Vincennes University. The congregations include: New Birth Church, New Hope, Messiah Baptist Church (Indianapolis), Nazarene, Eastview, Mt. Pleasant, and Vincennes University. He currently serves as assistant minister of music at Memorial Baptist Church in Evansville, IN. Additionally, Curtis’s vocal acumen demands him to perform at weddings, anniversaries, and a myriad of other celebratory events. He’s also called upon to conduct church choir workshops, mentor young musicians, and work on music production teams for stage plays.

Curtis is most proud of being a father to four children and the husband of Minister Tenisha Clark. He loves God, God’s people, and the gift God as imparted to him. More than anything, Curt loves offering the gift back to the Giver. In this season, his favorite scripture is, “For we know that all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord, and are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).
